i've gotten sucked in to "hooking up" on abc. it chronicles the online dating experience of several women in new york.

in the beginning it was kind of a joke to watch it - but to me, it's interesting. maybe because i've done the online dating thing, or maybe it's because i have nothing better to do at 8pm on a thursday night.

one thing that really struck me is the amount of time these girls wait (or don't) to have sex with someone. which made me think...when is the appropriate time to sleep with someone?

then of course, i started thinking about my dating experiences. i don't think there were many guys i kissed on the first date, let alone had sex with. maybe this is too personal, but i am totally curious.

on a totally unrelated note, i am in love with john mayer, again.

i love the fact that coachella has a cassette player in addition to a cd player. the past few days i have been listening to OLD mix tapes that friends made me during late high school, early college. damn, it's good stuff.

i also love the fact that i have severe ROAD RAGE. i flipped three people off this morning on my way to work as well as flashing my high beams to several others. i can't stand the fact that people do not know how to merge and that when there's a sign that says "left lane ends 1/2 mile" people wait until the very last inch to merge. NO MORE. i will not be a nice driver anymore. i don't pull that crap to others, so why should i allow it? oh, right. because i don't want to get killed.

today ends a HUGE project that i have been working on since early may. rumor has it that i am going to be getting a bonus. (bonus' here are distributed via rewards cards. a master card that has the amount of your bonus.) keep in mind that the other people only got $25 but there were 18 of them. being as though i was the lead, i am hoping for $50. is that too much to ask? we shall see. i know you're thinking, "bonus, a couple grr" but not here.

OH. AND...the violent femmes are coming to kc october 7th. raise the roof! and, there's the john mayer trio WITH ray lamontange. root.

on another note, i finally found my gavin degraw cd. make fun all you will but i love him. and i loved the fact that he was on "what i like about you" sunday afternoon. and what i loved even more is that jennie garth made out with him. oh, kelly taylor. you haven't lost your touch.

finally, friday! this week seems to have dragged on and on. i can't wait to sleep in tomorrow and stay in my pj's all day. although, i will go for a walk tomorrow morning. i have no plans for the weekend other than knitting and relaxing. i'm feeling super lazy.

plans for red rocks are well under way. we're going to drive out on thursday and stay with my aunt and uncle. drive to golden on friday and get ready for the SHOWS! i can't wait. i know it's going to be a great weekend and we're in for some incredible shows. and of course, there will be a tour clothes shopping spree sometime in the near future. I am thinking maybe some linen drawstring pants...who knows. i've heard the walk from the parking lot to the venue is a pain, so comfort is key. i'm wondering how long it really is...i've heard it's all uphill - which will be nice coming back (downhill).

also, i got my eyebrows waxed last night. i am starting to think that $20 bucks is too much to spend but...she does an INCREDIBLE job. and, it's really nice to not have a unibrow. they're not very becoming on ladies.

one other thing, i love "who's the boss" marathons.

last night, i found out that three of my dmb friends will be at red rocks! yay!

not much else to report. we've got a pretty big weekend ahead of us and i am attempting to rest up before it arrives.

and, last night was the season finale of blow out. i will miss it! i love jonathan so much.

i was a little bored today...

migraines.

seem to be the story of my life, lately. i don't know if i haven't been drinking enough water OR if it's the weather.

the problem is that i can't take migraine meds because they have caffeine in them and the caffeine couter-acts with my anxiety meds. good times, eh?

ahh, the canoe trip.

we had a great time. with the exception of me going up stream when i fell out of our canoe and being unable to stop myself. although, i think it's officially been decided that 14 miles is way too long for this family. i am hoping next year we do 8-10. the whole excursion took well over 9 hours. in my book, 9 hours in the hot sun is not all that grand.

i did learn a few things this weekend. first of all, my father in law HATES my sister in law. second, air mattresses need to be refilled, daily. third, being snotty is fun. i also learned that reapplying sunscreen even if the bottle says "waterproof" is always necessary. i am burnt to a crisp.

i have a serious flaw that makes me think that i am entitled to getting/having certain things. and when i don't get those things, i get really upset.

i don't know what causes it or if it's a rightful feeling - but i know it makes me feel like crap. or perhaps, i just set really high expectations.

ahhhh...what a freaking week!

my contract for my position expired on tuesday without an official offer to stay in my current position. i was FREAKING out come wednesday. i asked several people what the status was and no one seemed to know. anyway, finally - i got my offer. yesterday at 4pm. i am an official employee effective today. yay, me! to celebrate, my boss took me to lunch at the bluebird cafe. a quaint organic restaurant. it was good! i had baked polenta with grilled onions, portabellas, zucchini and a red pepper sauce. it was delightful.

this weekend...babysitting baby avery, cooking, shopping for the CANOE trip and resting.
