remember when i mentioned a few months back that my cousin was really good friends with adam duritz?

well, *maybe* i didn't fully believe him. until...i noticed his name in adam's thank-yous for the films about ghosts cd.

interesting.

when we had dinner on the plaza the other night, i found a new lingerie store. to me, it's a conservative victoria's secret. it's called inner self. check out the site. they have some cute things!

ahhhh, happy belated holidays!

our holidays were wonderful. beginning with a great hanukkah, and ending with a dunn family-filled christmas, it was a great week.

the food was wonderful, the company was fabulous and the gifts? spectacular!

what did i get, you ask? well, we start off with the best gift of the year, my kitchenaid classic stand mixer. yay, john! i had been wanting it forever. as a matter of fact, i used to jokingly tell people that the only reason why i was getting married was so that i could register for one. the other gifts? some pj's, clothes, a travel cosmetic bag, two pairs of shoes, the coldplay live dvd/cd, friends seasons 1&3 on dvd, a crock pot, TWO (yes, two) iced tea makers, lionel richie's greatest videos on dvd, some cook books, a gift certificate for a pedicure, a ton of bath and body works stuff, a hot glue gun (everyone needs one, according to my mother in law) a new hairdryer and a scarf. all in all, i think i did alright.

and next year, we're going to CANCUN! root!

did i mention that i got jt live from london for hanukkah? i love my husband, so much.

the bummer, is that it's only 52 minutes long! couldn't believe that! don't get me wrong, it's good. just short.

hmmm, what else?

the big dunn christmas extravaganza begins tonight with the eve of christmas eve dinner. usually turkey and dressing, but since there was a family emergency, we'll be having soup. which also means that i'll be having soup for xmas dinner since the dunns eat some sort of red meat. good times. i should have offered to bake the turkey, myself - but i have been way too busy lately.

i'm very excited for my presents. i am also excited for friday, oliver's birthday bash. which reminds me, i need to go get some trinkets for it. AND his puppy cake! yay, puppy cake. i was thinking of baking a people cake, too. but, i think that's just a bit too much. even for me.

i can't believe my baby's almost one! remember when he was just 8 weeks old? *sigh*

what are you?

the thing about my birthday, is that i expect everyone to be as excited about it as i am.

this tends to make things complicated, as most everyone sees someone else's birthday as just another day.

i get SO excited about my birthday, that i do everything i can to make everyone's birthday just as special as i would like mine to be. good so far? ok.

work. perhaps i put too much into my coworkers. for tiffany's birthday, i went all out. baked her a huge carrot cake and purchased some candles and room sprays. what did i get for my birthday? nothing. well, i did get a loaf of breakfast bread but, no one could actually sit and enjoy it with me. personally, i think it's totally rude - but i guess that's how life works. the question is, holly's birthday is next week and i am responsible for baking her cake. i will definitely do that, but should i really go above and beyond?

in other birthday news, i got a wonderful gift certificate and flowers from my husband, a cd from oliver, tons of gift certificates, lots of calls and tons of cards! yay, 27.

completely unrealted, is it lame of me to want to have a birthday party for oliver's first birthday?

has anyone else seen the video for 'taylor" by jack johnson? i almost peed my pants while watching this morning.

i used to like no doubt.

until they did a cover of talk talk's "it's my life". seriously? SO lame. not only that, but if you're going to do a cover of a song, make sure you can sing it live. gwen tried to sing it on the billboard show last night, and failed, miserably. poor, poor girl.

things have been odd with me, lately.

i'm not sure if it's the depression of the wedding being over, or me being in a funk. but, it's got to go. mood swings galore. i wonder if my body has become so accustom to my anti anxiety medicine, that i am going backwards. who knows. i just want to get things figured out.

good thing i have a dr. appointment on monday. yay for the ob-wan-kanobi!(or however you spell it) not.

a. it's snowing! john would say, "it's just flurries." but to me, snow is snow! and let it snow.

b. i am OBSESSED with the walmart market around the corner from our apartment. i seriously go there every day.

c. i am secretly practicing my background vocals for the next time counting crows are in town. i am convinced i will be invited on stage to sing on "hanging around". it's actually pretty pathetic. i've figured out the harmonies and everything.

d. the tracy morgan show was a HUGE disappointment. i was expecting to laugh my gourd off. didn't exactly happen.

e. two weeks till my birthday.

f. my name has officially changed at work. my email now reflects my married name. it's pretty cool.

g. trista and ryan are on tonight

h. i am almost done with my holiday shopping. go, me!

i. that's all i can think of, right now. except, it's SNOWING!
