i know it will sound completely unexciting, but for john's birthday - i bought him new glasses. you're probably thinking "wow. how...exciting!". well, it is exciting.

every year, john gets new contacts with our vision insurance leaving him with the most unattractive glasses, ever. like harry carrey (sp) times three. i decided it was time for an upgrade and conned his parents and grandparents into going in on them with me.

the glasses arrived yesterday, and i cannot tell you how weird it is to look at him without his HUGE frames on. all night he kept commenting on how he," had to get used to the new glasses because the frames are so small!" not small. normal. anyway, i am sure that most of you don't care about the new glasses - but you would if you had seen the old ones! maybe i'll post a picture of before and after so that you can all appreciate the difference!

our weekend was good. happy belated birthday to my husband, john who turned 28 on saturday. what did we do to celebrate? we watched 4 hours of the man show followed by the royals game. by the selection, you can tell who picked the days programming.

also, i made john's favorite cake. it turned out good, but a little dry. vanilla butternut. it's almost a pound cake with icing. hello, fattening. it was YUM, though. and for entertainment during the cakeabration, john's brother and mom got into a HUGE fight. it's always nice to have an argument during a celebration. and then not apologize for it. good times!

so, gorge is out and red rocks is in...

i just wonder if it's going to be as hard to get tickets as people say it is.

i've been having all sorts of weird dreams, lately.

last night i dreamt that john left me and moved in with his parents because he was a cokehead.

when i told him about the dream this morning, he blamed it on me watching the backstreet boys behind the music last night. he may have a point since aj mclean was a cokehead.

however, why on earth would i dream that he left me? dream analysis, anyone?

i can't believe i am not seeing dmb until september 7th. that's INSANITY. how will i ever make it that long?

john made me a copy of the st. louis show and i LOVE it. the new songs are awesome live and i am guessing that by the time i actually see them live, they will be well practiced and amazing. i am especially digging "hunger for the great light". reminds me a little of "drive in drive out" or "rhyme and reason".

also, since i am DEAD FLAT FOOTIE broke, i can't buy the new coldplay - which is totally bumming me out. oh, well. i can sit it out a few weeks. can't i?

oh, also? blow out started it's second season last night. i love that show so much. jonathan is such a great tv personality. however, i can't imagine paying $500 for a hair cut. and, john made a very clear point that i would never get to experience one. damnit!

well, you're all probably wondering where i've been the past few days...oh, you don't care? too bad - you're going to hear about it, anyway.

i've been SICK. like death bed sick. and, in case you don't believe me, there are wittnesses. the best part of my sickness was that wednesday i was alone since john went to see dmb in the stl. of course, when he left, he didn't know how sick i was - so i'll let him slide this time...

wednesday i was misdiagnosed with asthma. thursday i was correctly diagnosed with bronchitis and...WHOOPING cough. yes, people still get whooping cough.

after a weekend full of hydrocodone cough syrup, steriods and antibiotics - i feel as though i am finally getting back to normal. even though i sound like a man.

and on top of it all, robbi and scotty were visiting and i hosted a bridal shower. i am such a trooper. supah troopah.
