do i dare make resolutions for 2005? i feel like everytime i put something in writting, i never follow through with it.

perhaps, i should make a resolution and keep it in my head instead of documenting it?

all in all, the year has been wonderful. from buying the house to winning the trip to new orleans, it's been an incredible year. is it just me or does it seem that the older we get, the faster the years go by? it seems like only yesterday i was moving out here to live with john. when i think about everything that has happened in the past year to and around us, it doesn't seem as though it's truly been a year.

alright, that's enough for now. after all, i do need to get some work done today!

ahh, nothing like the feeling of the holidays being over.

our 10.5 hour drive down to dallas was just the start of our family overload.

over all, the weekend went pretty well. i have basically come to terms with the fact that my brothers are spoiled beyond belief and that they need some serious discipline. rachel and i are considering applying for them to be on "super nanny". it's that bad.

christmas was great. started with lasagna on the floor but ended with wonderful family time and lots of presents!

the best gift? john gave me beautiful diamond earrings! go, john!

oh, and also - for all of the people i didn't call while in dallas (all three of you) - i am very sorry. we were so busy doing family things that calling people kind of took the back burner! but - never fear, we'll be down again very soon!

Wednesday, December 22, 2004

well, we made it to dallas in a record 10.5 hours...more on that later.

in case i don't make it on before the holiday weekend - have a wonderful christmas!

a course in customer service.

john purchased me two gift certificates to a spa i have been to quite a few times for our anniversary. i decided to redeem them, yesterday - while john drown himself in football.

an hour massage and hour and fifteen minute pedicure. i was SO excited.
the spa requires that if you are getting a massage you arrive thirty minutes before your scheduled service to get ready for your massage. so, i got there at 11:30 since my appointment was for noon.

i waited until 12:25 to be taken into the massage. my hour massage was really 45 minutes. however, since my massage was late, i was running late for my pedicure. i then went to take a shower to get the massage oils off and right when i stepped out of the shower, the nail tech was literally waiting for me. by then it was about 1:30. i told her that i need to try off and dry my hair since it was 20 degrees outside. so, my pedicure started around 1:45-1:50. it was over at 2:35. that would be 45 minutes.

SO. i ask to speak to the manager, and he was a complete jerk. he made me feel like it was my fault and that i should have rushed to get out of my massage to get to my pedicure. what an asshole. i was seriously irritated. i did not get the services i paid for and he offered me nothing in return. not that i was expecting free services but an apology would have been nice.

and...i will never go back there again. which really sucks because i really do like it there.

i feel like we're back in 2001, when i would be without john for weeks at a time. i know he will only be gone four days - but it seems like FOREVER.

last night was ok, we made some dinner (we=oliver, jimi & myself), watched some tv and passed out during the chiefs game. i woke up three times in the middle of the night because i thought i heard "something". hopefully tonight i will sleep better.

the worst thing? john won't even be here for my bday. he gets in late that night. :(
