this line from a pat mcgee band song has been running through my head for a few days now. it kind of brings up an interesting question. is there anyone i would die for? i mean really, are there one or two people you would literally drop your life for? when i was little i was so scared by the thought of death. when someone would talk about or mention death, i use to get all clammy and anxiety ridden. now i just think of it as a better place. when it's my time, it's my time.
back to the subject at hand...i would put my life on the line for my sister and my two brothers. my parents and stepmother as well. but really, would you really drop your life for a friend? i guess it would depend on the friend.
it's interesting how when you grow up you have a different perception of friendship. when i was in 8th grade i wanted to be friends with the cool kids. when i was in high school i wanted to be friends with the popular kids. when i was in college it all changed. i found myself to be friends with people i never would have expected. i was friends with whomever i felt comfortable with, laugh with, and spend an endless amount of time with without getting sick of the person. being popular or cool no longer mattered. it matters who you are.
ok really, back to the dying for your friends...i think deep down i would put my life down for a few of my friends.
